The perfect project for a beginner quilter. Instruction includes rotary cutting, design placement, quilting terminology, achieving a ¼” seam, piecing blocks, pressing vs ironing,  matching and nesting seams, squaring blocks and quilt top. Pairs well with our Quilt Finishing  Class. 

Supplies: 

For Quilt 

• 3 packs of 5” print squares (Charm Packs) – (look for packs comprising an even mix of light  and dark tones, not mid-tones) 
• Border Fabric ¾ yard 
• Binding 1/2 yard 
• Backing 3 ¼ yards 
• Cotton (or Cotton/Poly 80/20) Batting – throw sized 60” x 60” 
• Coordinating 50 wt cotton thread 

Additional Supplies: 

• Sewing machine in good working order, quilting needles, ¼” quilting foot with or without  guide, fabric scissors, stiletto, seam guide (Rachael ruler), patchwork pins, marking pencil,  diagonal seam tape. Optional: iron and pressing mat, rotary cutter and board, 2 ½” wide ruler
